As a financial planner at Oak Leaf, Marja (pronounced MAR-ee-Ya) Sweet works daily for her clients’ success. Specializing in comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis on integrating innovative technology, Marja has been helping clients develop financial wellness since 2014.
After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelor Degree in Entrepreneurship, Marja worked as a competitive research associate for State Street Bank and later as a long-term care associate case manager for Advanced Resources Marketing. She began her career in the financial planning industry in 2014 working for Auclair & Auclair LLP until she and Jon took over the practice in 2015. She is currently enrolled in the Financial Planning Master's program through Kansas State University, with a concentration in Advanced Planning and Financial Therapy.
Marja values working in a field where she can sit on the same side of the table with clients, developing strategies that they understand and feel comfortable with—where their financial goals are her guide. Committed to helping clients reduce their financial stress, Marja provides invaluable guidance to the multiple generations of clients whom she serves. Her greatest satisfaction comes from seeing people develop peace and purpose with money, even if it was once a source of stress.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Marja lives in Rhode Island with her husband, daughter and their three dogs (part-time market-volatility therapy assistants). Dedicated to valuable causes in her community, Marja is a member of the Financial Planning Association in Rhode Island, and a volunteer at the East Greenwich Animal Rescue League/Heart of Rhode Island Shelter. She also has volunteered pro bono financial planning through the FPA of Massachusetts Dana Farber Initiative. She enjoys reading by the fire, hiking with her dogs and exploring new local towns and restaurants with her husband and toddler.
